ACHC Partners with the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP)
Cary, NC (PRWEB) April 15, 2015 -- Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) has announced a newly formed partnership with the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP). The partnership between the two organizations allows IACP to provide its compounding pharmacy members with special pricing for ACHC’s nationally recognized PCAB accreditation and resources.
“IACP plays a significant role in supporting compounding pharmacies and we believe this partnership will enhance the ability for ACHC to offer relevant compliance solutions and educational resources to compounding pharmacies,” said Matt Hughes, ACHC Director of Business Development and Customer Service. "ACHC is eager to begin growing our new partnership with IACP and we look forward to the many future opportunities our organizations have ahead of us.”
The International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists is an association representing more than 4,000 pharmacists, technicians, students, and members of the compounding community who focus upon the specialty practice of pharmacy compounding. Compounding pharmacists work directly with prescribers including physicians, nurse practitioners, and veterinarians to create customized medication solutions for patients and animals whose healthcare needs cannot be met by manufactured medications.
“IACP is proud to partner with Accreditation Commission for Health Care,” said, IACP President Dale Coker, RPh, FIACP. “We deeply value the role accreditation plays in the development of a compounding pharmacy. Over the last several years, IACP has appreciated its long-standing relationship with PCAB, which now has become a part of ACHC. We look forward to the continuing advancement of this organization, and its ability to provide IACP Members with a meaningful resource to help achieve their accreditation goals.”
Since the introduction of its pharmacy program in 1996, ACHC has grown to become a leading national accrediting organization with more than 900 pharmacies accredited in the U.S. ACHC has broad and extensive experience in the area of pharmacy compliance, including accreditation programs for non-sterile and sterile compounding, infusion, specialty, and long term care pharmacy services. Beginning July 2014, PCAB Accreditation became a service of ACHC, offering programs for non-sterile (ref. USP 795) and sterile (ref. USP 797) compounding services. PCAB Accreditation assesses the compounding process based on a specific set of standards that concentrate on the quality and consistency of medications compounded.
By achieving PCAB accreditation, pharmacies are able to demonstrate their commitment to delivering the highest quality medications and services by complying with the most stringent national regulations and industry best practices.
ACHC is a not-for-profit accreditation organization that has stood as a symbol of quality and excellence since 1986. The organization has CMS Deeming Authority for Home Health, Hospice, and DMEPOS and a Quality Management System that is certified to ISO 9001:2008. ACHC’s broad range of accreditation programs also includes Pharmacy, Sleep, Private Duty Nursing, and Behavioral Health. ACHC is the provider’s choice for accreditation because of its personal Account Advisors, relevant and realistic standards, competitive pricing, and consultative approach to accreditation. Accreditation by ACHC reflects an organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.
