LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (PRWEB) February 01, 2018 -- The American Case Management Association (ACMA) announces the 2018 release of Compass, its online learning system designed to provide standardized training for case management staff including nurses, social workers and physician advisors.
With professionally narrated modules, interactive case studies and competency quizzes, Compass teaches and tests solid foundational knowledge in the practice of case management. Content for Compass is developed and maintained by an interdisciplinary taskforce of case management and physician advisor leaders.
The 2018 release offers an updated and complete curriculum that features two comprehensive course libraries – one for case managers and one for physician advisors. Content has been updated to reflect current regulations, policies and practices, and new courses include Medicare/Medicaid, Human Trafficking and Effective Pediatric Case Management.
The program offers 25.5 new hours of continuing education opportunities for registered nurses and those with their Accredited Case Manager (ACMTM) certification, 17.5 hours for social workers, plus 17.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for physicians jointly provided by the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine and ACMA.
“Compass is a valuable resource for case managers,” said Compass user Caroline Segovia-Marquez, BSN RN, MBA, ACM-RN, CPHM, CMAC Director of Case Management at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center-Trinity Health of New England. “It provides new case managers with an overview of all educational needs to prepare for a new role/job; it clarifies new information and regulatory changes; and it is a comprehensive orientation tool for managers and educators. It is very easy to use, set up new users and navigate. The opportunity to obtain continuing education credits is a huge plus.”
Compass is currently in use at over 1,000 hospitals training more than 25,000 Case Management and Transition of Care professionals across the United States.
