Acme Brick Company Receives “Founders Plaque” Award From Hispanic Contractors Association
Fort Worth, Texas (PRWEB) November 24, 2014 -- The Regional Hispanic Contractors Association (RHCA) recently presented Acme Brick Company with a Founder’s Plaque. The plaque was presented during a luncheon hosted by the City of Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber and the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. RHCA representatives and City of Fort Worth Councilmember Danny Scarth presented the Founder’s Plaque to Ben Muro, Vice President of Human Resources for Acme Brick and current Chairman of the Board of the RHCA.
Acme Brick is one of four partners that provided guidance and funding to help the RHCA open an office in Fort Worth, Texas. Through this office the RHCA will be able to better serve its 300 local members. Dallas RHCA President, John Martinez observed that, “Being part of Fort Worth, allows the Association to meet regularly with Fort Worth Councilmembers as well as local business and civic leaders to assist small and emerging contractors with business opportunities. Opening the RHCA Fort Worth office was only possible through the generosity of Founding Partners like Acme Brick Company that has supported our efforts since 2008.”
The RHCA has over 1,400 members and will celebrate 20 years of service to the construction profession next year in 2015. The Dallas chapter was formed during Ben Muro’s tenure as Chairman of the Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in the 1990’s. The goal of both chapters is to guide members in understanding and complying with local code requirements, and to provide workshops on job site safety training, and fundamental business practices. Mr. Martinez also added that, “Acme Brick provided a professional facilitator to lead our annual Board retreat. The result of that meeting was a strategic plan to grow 20 Hispanic owned construction businesses to over 20 million in revenue by the year 2020. With help from our partners like Acme, I have no doubt that we will reach that goal.”
