Acrobatiq Honored With Prestigious Return On Education VentureED Award
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) April 13, 2015 -- Acrobatiq, powered by Carnegie Mellon, is a winner of the 2015 Return On Education (ROE) VentureED Innovation Award. Acrobatiq was singled out from among more than 270 presenting companies for its potential to dramatically improve learning outcomes and increase access to education. Sponsored by Arizona State University and GSV Capital, an investment firm, the annual Summit brings together more than 2,400 thought-leaders, educators, philanthropists, social and commercial entrepreneurs, business leaders, policy makers, and foundation leaders focused on expanding the transformative power and potential of technology to improve education worldwide.
Acrobatiq, launched in June 2013, is advancing the pioneering research in online learning from Carnegie Mellon University’s Open Learning Initiative (OLI) through its platform and portfolio of outcomes-driven adaptive curriculum built on breakthrough applications of learning data. Acrobatiq’s approach to optimizing learning is based on leading-edge research in cognitive science, human-computer interaction, and statistical analysis from Carnegie Mellon.

In 2014, Acrobatiq was named a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Next Generation Courseware Challenge Grant recipient. Acrobatiq is using the grant funding to expand its portfolio of adaptive curriculum, and to partner with Arizona State University, National Louis University, Rio Salado College, StraighterLine, the University System of Georgia, and Western Governors University to evaluate impact across different types of educational institutions.
The ROE VentureEd awards honor companies who demonstrate potential for a high return on education by significantly increasing access to education; greatly reducing the cost for learners and/or learning institutions; dramatically improving learner outcomes; providing substantial leverage to learning leaders; and/or making a sustainable and scaled impact.
