Across-the-Way Productions Announces FloydFest 13 - 'Revolutionary' and Initial Artist Roster
Floyd, VA (PRWEB) November 21, 2013 -- For music festivals around the nation, the holiday season represents the prime time of the year to announce summer dates, early-bird ticket prices, and initial performing artist line-ups. This year, FloydFest is upping the ante, announcing the festival date and initial artist roster just prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. And the festival has yet another holiday surprise in store – this year, FloydFest will be rocking the Blue Ridge Mountains for a full five days. Music and festivities are slated to begin mid-day on Wednesday, July 23rd and continue through Sunday evening, July 27th. Five-day multiday tickets will be available for purchase.
Located in the small, scenic mountain town of Floyd, VA, FloydFest has established itself as a uniquely off-beat trendsetter within the music festival scene. Reflective of its annually changing theme, wide variety of vendors, outdoor activities, and unparalleled multi-genre musical line-ups, FloydFest is undoubtedly one of the most distinctive and highly-anticipated music festivals of the summer. The tradition continues with the November 18th announcement of the festival theme for 2014, FloydFest 13 – Revolutionary. The November artist lineup announcement is considerably flushed out, featuring an impressive roster of headliners and an unprecedented melding of R&B, Blues, Reggae, Americana and more, including:
Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite ~ Ms. Lauryn Hill ~ Ray LaMontagne ~ Thievery Corporation (Full Band) ~ Ziggy Marley ~ Michael Franti & Spearhead ~ Buddy Guy ~ Robert Randolph & the Family Band ~ Lettuce ~ JJ Grey & Mofro ~ Conspirator ~ Donna the Buffalo ~ The Duhks ~ Campbell Brothers ~ The Lee Boys ~ Hackensaw Boys ~ The London Souls ~ Jonathan Boogie Long ~The Deadmen ~ 2013 On the Rise Winner: Paper Bird ~ 2013 On the Rise Winner Runner Up: Crystal Bright & the Silver Hands ~ Tauk ~ Dirty Drummer ~ and many, many more TBA.
In line with its ‘Revolutionary’ theme, FloydFest has established some new changes to this year’s festival based on the recommendations of fans and festival-goers from previous years. Capacity for the event will be cut by 1300 multi-day tickets, a move geared to embrace and sustain FloydFest’s status as a boutique music festival that sells out each year well in advance of gates opening. Event promotions company Across-the-Way Productions cited the changes, which include the removal of nearly all onsite event parking, as “upping the ante” of aesthetics, environmentalism, and most importantly, patron safety and comfort. The changes exemplify FloydFest’s mission statement “To be the best music festival of its time, selling a limited quantity of tickets to the highest quality event experience, bar none, celebrating music, art and life in an intimate, visually stunning environment.” So, come one, come all, and join the ‘Revolution’ – FloydFest 13 is going to be the best yet!
