ACTCM Announces May Event Schedule
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 23, 2015 -- The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) is excited to announce their upcoming event schedule. May will feature several interesting events, including lectures, classes, workshops and an open house.
The schedule is as follows:
TCM in Pregnancy & Childbirth in Bali
12:30 – 1:30 p.m. May 5
Robin Lim, executive director and senior midwife of non-profit foundation Yayasan Bumi Sehat, presents on collaborative use of TCM and Midwifery at Bumi Sehat Clinic in Bali. The event will be held in Room C.
Integrative Healing
12:30 – 1:30 p.m. May 12
MSTCM alum Erika Dalheim discusses integrating her TCM background with Western healing during her experience as a patient of Western medicine after a serious injury. The event will be held in Room A.
Webinar – What is Chinese Medicine? II
2-3 p.m. May 12
Danny Geren, a graduate of ACTCM, discusses the medical system of Chinese Medicine, which for thousands of years has been used to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases. Participants can log in from work or home.
Women’s Health and Environmental Medicine (Series #1)
8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. May 16
This class will explore the impact of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and plastics on female reproductive health and introduce Chinese medicine practitioners to the research and public awareness of toxicant exposure. The class will be held at CIIS – Namaste Hall.
MSTCM Open House
1-4 p.m. May 16
The open house will give an overview of the Master’s program and include an acupuncture demo, TCM discussion, student life presentation, tours and more.
Town Hall: First Professional Doctorate
12:30 – 1:30 p.m. May 26
ACTCM updates the community on a new, first professional doctoral degree in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Questions will be answered, and lunch will be served in Room A.
Yangsheng Medical Qigong: Prescriptions for the Kidney, Heart and Fu Organs
5:30 p.m. May 29-31
This is a three-class course towards a certificate in medical qigong. The course presents the fundamentals of qigong exercises for self-healing and mind-body wellness.
Developing Your Quality of Touch Through Positional Release Therapy with BJ Green
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. May 30-31
This is a series of three workshops which will explore the primary muscles that determine the stability and functioning of the pelvis and low back. Each class will primarily use Positional Release Therapy (PRT), and can be taken individually or as a complete series.

Founded in 1980, ACTCM is one of the oldest Traditional Chinese Medicine colleges in the country and was the first in the nation to be approved to offer the Master's of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. ACTCM has been honored for its curriculum, faculty and acupuncture clinic, and voted "Best of the Bay" by both the San Francisco Weekly and the San Francisco Bay Guardian.
