Action Services Group Completes LED Lighting Retrofits for Music & Arts
Aston, PA (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- Action Services Group, a national lighting, sign and electrical maintenance company, today announces the completion of the first five in a series of Music & Arts locations to receive interior LED lighting retrofits.
The LED lighting retrofits, projected to reduce each store’s energy usage by 78% per year, included replacing the existing halogen 75-watt and 90-watt spot lamps covering the sales floor as well as the hanging-instrument walls with 16-watt LED spot lamps.
A specific concern addressed, and that will be eliminated by the use of LED lamps, was the musical instrument damage being caused by the heat from the previous halogen lamps illuminating for an average of eleven hours per day on the instruments hanging on the walls.
In addition to the projected energy savings and reduction in instrument damage issues, the LED retrofits will virtually eliminate lighting maintenance costs in each store for nearly ten years. In comparison, based on operating an average of eleven hours per day/7 days a week, the previous halogen lights would need to be replaced approximately every 7 to 8 months. (Comparison based on the halogen lamp’s lifetime rating of 2,500 - 3,000 hours versus the LED lamp’s lifetime rating of 40,000 hours.)
Action Services Group’s LED lighting retrofit services included conducting a site survey, evaluating LED lighting alternatives, help in uncovering applicable local utility rebates, preparing a total ROI analysis and installation.
Including energy savings, maintenance savings and expected utility rebates, the LED lighting retrofits are projected to provide a total payback in slightly over a year and a half.
