Active Adventures Roll Out Innovative New Interactive Trip Maps
(PRWEB) November 12, 2014 -- Leading overseas adventure travel operator, Active Adventures, maintain the philosophy that nothing beats the ‘boots on the ground’ destination experience. After all, what they do best is deliver exceptional, fully-guided adventure tours in the destinations they know and love. But, they figure ‘why not push the boundaries of what’s possible with the pre-trip experience as well’… The result? Interactive maps that offer more detail and exciting potential than anything else in the online adventure travel world.
Each tour now has an interactive map, powered by Google Maps, that allows the user to zoom in and out, click on the corresponding daily itinerary to see a particular area in more detail and switch between standard view and satellite. Wondering what it looks like from Key Summit on the Routeburn Track – on day 10 of the Ultimate South Island Adventure ‘Rimu’ tour – drag the ‘street view’ man to that green marker on the map and you’ll get a 360 degree view. Likewise, try the same thing at Everest Base Camp – day 11 of our ‘EBC’ tour.
The future for the Active Adventures interactive maps looks bright, with plans to over-lay client photos, videos and trip survey quotes. The team at Active HQ are also busy plotting the coordinates for all of their hiking, biking and sea kayaking excursions, to ensure that you're getting the most accurate information available. Some of these tracks are not published anywhere else online, so again, Active believe this is an industry-first initiative.
If you’re now taking a virtual tour on one of the Active Adventures trips, be sure to get in touch with Matty, Jodi, Darren or Phil about your adventure vacation plans. They will be able to help you with trip availability.
