Actor Michael Raynor's 'Who Is Floyd Stearn?' to Become Significant Jewish Themed Film
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) January 21, 2014 -- Howard Stern said the show is, "sheer brilliance of storytelling.” And the New York Times touted that, “It is one the best and most riveting family confessional stories they have ever heard.” Michael performed this solo drama, “Who Is Floyd Stearn?” to sold out audiences Off-Broadway in NYC. And who is Floyd Stearn? is the question Michael asked himself for over 20 years, when he received a FedEx note that his estranged father had died. How did he die? When did it happen? And Why?
Mr. Raynor is in the process of producing and directing the film adaptation of his hit show. He is actively meeting and speaking with investors right now about this significant Jewish themed story. He says, “This story is very important to our culture, and we need to bring it to the screen.” He also says, “The support I am getting from our community is overwhelming, and I can’t wait to direct the movie so we can preserve this mythological story forever.” The target date for principal photography on this low budget feature film is May 15th, 2014. Some of Michael's television credits include the Emmy Award winning mini-series, "From The Earth To The Moon," produced by Tom Hanks, Imagine Entertainment and HBO, "Criminal Minds," and "Castle." His film credits include "The Advocate," "A Brothers Kiss" and "Federal Hill," among others.. On stage, he performed “Who is Floyd Stearn?” to sold out audiences in Edinburgh, Scotland, as well as Off-Broadway New York, and Los Angeles. He was voted one of 25 Fresh Faces to Watch in the New York Post’s “Galaxy of New Stars.” In addition, Michael developed and successfully directed eight solo shows, including Butch Hammett’s international comedy hit, "Southern Discomfort." The screenplay for "Southern Discomfort" is also in the financing stage of development.
