Adapt Courseware to Lead Two Sessions on Evidence-Based, Adaptive Learning at OLC International Symposium
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) March 23, 2015 -- Adapt Courseware, which develops state-of-the-art personalized learning solutions, is among the thought leaders presenting at this year's Online Learning Consortium (OLC) 8th Annual Emerging Technologies for Online Learning International Symposium. Education technology veterans will share their experience in developing evidence-based, adaptive learning curriculum, as well as their insight on how this emerging approach can help schools ease the transition to competency-based education.
"Personalized, evidence-based adaptive learning is being recognized as a technological breakthrough in the way that education is delivered," said Mark Brodsky, CEO of Adapt Courseware. "It has the power to motivate students to excel in new ways, provides faculty with deeper insights into student performance, helps administrators prepare for new education models, and has the ability to improve completion and retention rates. We are excited to explore this further with attendees at OLC as they look for innovative ways to educate."
"A New Standard in Online Courses: Merging Education, Technology and Entertainment"
will feature a collaborative Physics course that was developed by Adapt Courseware and the University of Florida. Speakers will showcase how the course's interactive multimedia (including professionally produced videos and animations, engaging exercises, concise and relevant readings, rich assessments, and extensive analytics) addresses each learner's needs, motivating and engaging them in more relevant ways. This session is scheduled for Thursday, April 23rd at 2:30 p.m.
"A Bridge to Competency-Based Education" is part of the on-site and webcast line-up on Friday, April 24th, taking place at 11:40 a.m. Competency-based education has become top-of-mind as one of the more interesting possibilities to support the changing dynamics of today's student population and the global marketplace to which they aspire to compete. That said, establishing competency-based standards have far reaching implications for institutions. For schools that may pursue competency-based education, this session will demonstrate how evidence-based, adaptive learning can bridge the gap, giving administrators time to understand and plan for emerging standards, while helping faculty and students acclimate to this fundamental shift in the teaching and learning process.
Adapt Courseware will be exhibiting in booth #1010, showing attendees ways to integrate a mastery-based learning approach into their existing curriculum, as well as discussing its research, which demonstrates how adaptive multimedia can transform student behavior and produce double-digit gains in completion and retention. Adapt Courseware is a Platinum partner of OLC and is also sponsoring the Technology Test Kitchen in the exhibit hall. The conference takes place April 22nd - 24th in Dallas.
