ADFP Member Jerry Cohen to Offer Tips on Finances and Divorce During Weekly Radio Broadcast
East Northport, NY (PRWEB) November 25, 2013 -- The Association of Divorce Financial Planners (ADFP) announces that member Jerry Cohen is collaborating with Lisa Zonder to provide financial tips related to divorce on her talk radio show, “Divorce–Lisa Zonder Style”. The goal of the program is to empower those facing divorce to make wise decisions for themselves and their families. The show airs each Saturday on AM 1590 KTVA and reaches listeners in California’s Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
Lisa Zonder is a lawyer and mediator who concentrates on families going through divorce, while Jerry’s focus is on the financial implications of divorce. He will offer financial tips and answer listener questions during the weekly broadcast. “In my practice I help people arrive at fair and equitable financial settlements,” said Jerry. “This program gives me a larger platform to educate people about what they need to know to make good financial decisions during an emotional time.”
According to Andrew Samalin, president of the ADFP, the radio program provides listeners with a broad picture of the legal and financial issues of divorce. “Jerry’s financial expertise can help people avoid common financial mistakes before, during and after divorce.” said Samalin. “Making people aware of the benefits of divorce financial planning as an integral component of the divorce process is our primary mission at ADFP.”
Jerry Cohen is a Certified Public Accountant/Personal Financial Specialist (CPA/PFS), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA). He serves as a Director of the California chapter of the Association of Divorce Financial Planners. He was a charter member and served on the board of the San Fernando Valley chapter of the International Association of Financial Planning. He served on the California Senate Rules Committee Task Force on Financial Planning, as President of the American Association of Personal Financial Planners, as Chairman of the Los Angeles Chapter of the California Society of CPAs Personal Financial Planning Committee, and on the board for the Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law Association. He was a contributing editor for Practical Financial Planning magazine.
