Adherence to Duloxetine Treatment Published by Dove Medical Press
(PRWEB) February 13, 2014 -- ClinicoEconomics and Outcomes Research has published the original research “Duloxetine treatment adherence across mental health and chronic pain conditions.”
As corresponding author Dr. Able says, “Our study applied a uniform administrative claims-based methodology to assess duloxetine adherence in the treatment of multiple chronic conditions.”
Dr. Able continues, “The results suggest that not just the drug or drugs of interest, but the conditions treated should be taken into account by health plans when measuring, monitoring, and comparing adherence rates with real-world data.”
As Professor Colombo, Editor-in-Chief, explains “This study applied a uniform methodology for measuring and comparing duloxetine adherence in the treatment of multiple chronic medical conditions. Adherence among newly initiated duloxetine patients varied modestly across the medical conditions for which it was used. These results may be useful in the determination of expectations of adherence and how it may differ for each of the conditions studied.”
