Admiral Nimitz Foundation Host Pearl Harbor Ceremony
Fredericksburg, Texas (PRWEB) November 25, 2013 -- On Saturday December 7, 2013 at 12:25 pm in the Memorial Court Yard of the National Museum of the Pacific War, the Admiral Nimitz Foundation will be paying homage to those who served the United States on December 7, 1941, at Pearl Harbor. 2013 marks the 72th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor. The start time of 12:25 pm CST is the exact time that the attack on Pearl Harbor began. This program is free to the public.
Major General Alfred A. Valenzuela (Ret.) U.S Army will be the keynote speaker for the ceremony. The program will include a wreath laying, rifle salute and a flyover by World War II aircraft.
Major General Valenzuela served as the Commander of United States Army South from July 2000 to October 2003. Major General Valenzuela has served many assignments in three Corps (3rd, 7th, and 18th) and four Infantry Divisions (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 10th, and 1st AD).
MG Valenzuela has served on the Board of Directors for the Eagle Scout Association, the Texas Chapter of the Boys Scouts of American and the Tomas Rivera Institute for Policy. He has been selected to the Hall of Fame for the Boys Club, and is on the Board of Trustees of Saint Mary’s University. He was recently named one of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics” by Hispanic Business magazine and selected to the Board of Directors for the Cuban American Council for Education.
United States military installations were attacked on December 7, 1941, at Pearl Harbor on Oahu, Hawaii. The Admiral Nimitz Foundation and National Museum of the Pacific War are proud to honor those who served as well as those service members who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve the freedom of the United States of America.
