ADS Selects RADX LibertyGT Real-Time Software for Spectrum Fidelity ZX COTS, Multi-Channel, RF Spectrum Record, Playback and Analysis Systems
Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 04, 2017 -- Acquired Data Systems™ (ADS) and RADX Technologies® (RADX), today announced that ADS has selected RADX LibertyGT® Real-Time Measurement Software and Firmware (MSFS) to power ADS' new Spectrum Fidelity™ ZX Family of COTS, Single and Multi-Channel, Precision-Synchronized, RF Spectrum Record, Playback, Channel Emulation and Analysis Systems.
The new Spectrum Fidelity ZX Family combines ADS value-added software and services, RADX LibertyGT COTS Real-Time MSFS and state-of-the-art National Instruments™ (NI) and third-party COTS PXI/PXIe modules to enable both commercial and government customers to capture, analyze, re-transmit (playback) and accurately emulate complex, real world RF and microwave environments to solve challenging development, quality assurance (Q/A), operational testing, interference, safety and other problems related to complex, multi-channel RF and microwave communications, radar, surveillance and electronic warfare applications.
LibertyGT MSFS enables Spectrum Fidelity ZX systems to comprehensively address a wide range of current and next generation multi-channel synchronized, RF record and playback applications. ADS customers will also benefit from the award winning, software-defined, real-time capabilities of LibertyGT MSFS, which employs Xilinx® FPGAs to deliver industry-leading precision multi-channel phase and time-synchronization, enhanced bandwidth per channel, real-time spectrum analysis (RTSA) with advanced mask-based triggering and the world’s fastest 100% POI performance, real-time vector signal generation and analysis, real-time RF channel emulation, in-chassis SSD RAID,10 and 40 Gigabit Ethernet interface support and other advanced capabilities previously unavailable in COTS, multi-channel RF playback and record systems.
“By basing our new Spectrum Fidelity ZX Family on LibertyGT Real-Time MSFS, ADS customers will greatly benefit from the enhanced performance, optional real-time processing and software-defined scalability and tech insertion capabilities that are uniquely available from RADX,” said Larry Zambotti, ADS Chief Operating Officer. “Plus, because LibertyGT MSFS features a comprehensive, extensible API, we will be able to support existing customer’s applications with upgrades and tech insertion without affecting their previously developed test programs.”
When deployed in systems equipped with NI PXIe-1085 24 GB/sec PXIe Chassis, PXIe-8880 Intel® Xeon®-based Embedded Controllers, PXIe-5840 Vector Signal Transceivers (VSTs), PXIe-7915 FlexRIO FPGA Modules, PXIe-6674 Timing Modules and NI or third party SSD RAID modules, LibertyGT MSFS-based Spectrum Fidelity ZX systems will support up to eight (8) precision synchronized channels that support a frequency range of 9 kHz to 6 GHz and real-time bandwidths up to 500 MHz per channel. Because LibertyGT MSFS employs a software-defined architecture, Spectrum Fidelity ZX systems may be precisely tailored to meet customer requirements with specific playback, record, non-real-time and real-time spectrum analysis with advanced triggering support, real-time vector signal generation, real-time vector signal analysis and real-time channel emulation capabilities. Higher bandwidths (currently up to 1 GHz per channel), extended frequency ranges (currently up to 26.5 GHz) and other capabilities are available with different configuration options.
In addition to enhanced performance and real-time capabilities, LibertyGT MSFS also provides a number of state-of-the-art capabilities that will benefit Spectrum Fidelity ZX users. Included among these capabilities are intuitive, touchscreen optimized, 1080P HD Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) for all Apps, a comprehensive Applications Programming Interface (API) that supports programming in LabVIEW, TestStand, Python and C++ for all Apps and functions, a built-in TCP/IP remote interface and unique technology insertion capabilities afforded by the LibertyGT MSFS’ Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL). The LibertyGT MSFS HAL enables the ready insertion of new PXIe modules to address costly end-of-life obsolescence issues and support new capabilities afforded by COTS PXIe module improvements, both of which can dramatically lower system Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
“All of us at RADX are excited to be selected by ADS as a critical technology supplier on the new Spectrum Fidelity ZX systems,” said Ross Q. Smith, RADX Co-founder, CEO and Occasional Angler. “By working together with ADS and National Instruments, we believe we can solve the toughest RF spectrum record, playback, real-time analysis and real-time emulation problems that face our mutual customers in the aerospace, defense, aviation and communications industries.”
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY The Spectrum Fidelity ZX Family is modular and software defined-- so each system may be precisely tailored to meet current and future customer requirements.
