ADT Ships TURBOdesign Suite 5.2.2

The new version confirms ADT commitment to support the turbomachinery industry with a comprehensive environment for development of all turbomachinery components to achieve high efficiency products within shorter design times and costs. The main new features included in TURBOdesign Suite 5.2.2 are related to additional capabilities of TURBOdesign Pre, major improvements to TURBOdesign Volute, additional performance parameters for design in TURBOdesign1 and automatic optimization in TURBOdesign Optima, and finally a major new feature in TURBOdesign CAD.
Highlights of the new functionality in TURBOdesign Suite 5.2.2 include:
• TURBOdesign Pre: Extension of the 1D sizing and modelling capabilities to include radial inflow turbines, the code supports multiple stage configurations including vaned and vaneless nozzles.
• TURBOdesign 1 & TURBOdesign Optima: Additional control parameters have been implemented in TURBOdesign1 and TURBOdesign Optima to allow for design and optimization of high efficiency and ready to manufacture turbomachinery blades.
• TURBOdesign Volute: The code capabilities have been extended to include asymmetric volutes, major developments have also been made to the geometry output to ensure smooth surfaces ready for meshing.
• TURBOdesign CAD: New developments include capabilities to ensure constant blade angles sections for blade extrapolation and strict trimming requirements. Additional visualisation options for three-dimensional impellers have also been implemented.
TURBOdesign Suite System Requirements, Availability and Pricing
TURBOdesign Suite 5.2.2 is now available for download, the Suite runs on Windows systems. It operates on mid-range workstations with 2.4 Ghz or better processors, 2 GB RAM and 1Gb disk space. The TURBOdesign Suite is sold in modules starting from $15,000 USD with software training and technical support included.
