Skin Pathology Associates, Inc. (“SPA”) is a leading dermatopathology laboratory providing diagnostic services to referring dermatologists, plastic surgeons, primary care physicians, ophthalmologists and pediatricians across the United States. Founded in 1995 by James Elder M.D., SPA was one of the first regional laboratories to specialize in the field of dermatopathology. Dermatologists and other referring practitioners have relied on SPA for the accurate and timely detection of skin cancer and other skin diseases for more than 20 years. Led by Dr. Elder, a pathologist and nationally recognized expert in the field of dermatopathology, and his colleague since 2002, Dr. Anne Hearn Bussian, SPA is widely respected within the industry for its level of quality, commitment to customer service and advancement of the dermatopathologic field through various clinical-based teaching programs offered to dermatology residents at major universities. The company’s primary focus for growth is based on quality of service and education, and each premise is integrated into every aspect of its operations.
