Advanced Design Makes the DEUTZ TCD 3.6 L4 High Torque Ideal for the Rental Market
Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) February 02, 2016 -- The DEUTZ TCD 3.6 L4 High Torque engine has quickly proven to be an ideal solution for the rental market. The combination of a powerful 288-lb ft. torque rating at 74-hp provides similar performance as that of a traditional 100-hp engine.
Terex Corporation recently released its 8,000-lb model GTH™-844 telehandler with the high-torque 74-hp DEUTZ TCD 3.6 L4 engine. While a telehandler of its size typically requires a 100-hp engine, the DEUTZ TCD 3.6 high torque achieves comparable performance when integrated with an optimized powertrain. This latest technology offering by DEUTZ meets stringent US EPA Tier 4 emissions standards without the use of a Selective Catalytic Reduction System (SCR), thus simplifying ongoing service requirements for operators.
The compact, high torque TCD 3.6 L4 achieves 288-lb. ft torque at the low speed of 1,300 RPM providing reliable starts, with 74-hp constant across the speed range of 1,500 to 2,200 RPM. The optimal low speed and high performance torque curve is specifically tailored for the demands of off-road material handling equipment, such as telehandlers.
Emissions compliance is achieved from a combination of a modern engine design, and the development of a sophisticated diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) for exhaust aftertreatment.
Ease of maintenance is assured with the TCD 3.6 L4 High Torque, since the engine model was designed in such a way that the need for diesel particulate filters and an SCR system has been eliminated.
Lower acquisition cost and ease of maintenance, without sacrificing powerful performance, makes the TCD 3.6 L4 High Torque engine ideal for the rental market.
The Genie Telehander product family features 74, 100 and 122-hp output TCD3.6 L4 engines. In addition, a full range of Genie Telehandlers are powered with standard Tier 4 DEUTZ TD 2.9 L4 up to the TCD 4.1 L4 engines models.
DEUTZ Corporation will be exhibiting the TCD 3.6 L4 engine, as well as other Tier 4 models this week at World of Concrete 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
World of Concrete attendees may learn more about how DEUTZ Tier 4 engines are setting the standard in the rental industry by visiting with DEUTZ Corporation staff at Booth N2637.
