Advanced Fertility Center of Texas Is Proud to Announce That Our Lab Director Has Been Re-elected as The American College of Embryology President
(PRWEB) July 28, 2015 -- Advanced Fertility Center of Texas (AFCT) has hosted the EMBCOL office since the EMBCOL organization’s inception in 2010, and Dr Dozortsev, a Reproductive Laboratory Director at AFCT, was one of the founders of EMBCOL and served as its first president. In 2012, he was succeeded by Dr Gianpiero Palermo, who is credited with the discovery of intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), which has revolutionized the field of reproductive medicine. Dr Dozortsev was recently re-elected to lead EMBCOL again.
After receiving his medical degree, Dr Dozortsev spent nearly 6 years in pre-implantation mammalian embryology training, which culminated in several discoveries in the field of human in vitro fertilization (IVF) and a PhD in Biomedicine. Dr Dozortsev's research was praised by Dr Robert Edwards, who received a Nobel Prize for inventing IVF.
Dr Michael Allon, a Reproductive Endocrinologist and one of the founders of AFCT, is an advisory board member of EMBCOL. Hosting the organization has empowered AFCT with national and international collaborations with experts in advanced embryo culture, cryopreservation, and implantation techniques. Dr Dozortsev and his laboratory team at AFCT employ a combination of well-established as well as cutting-edge approaches, including various proprietary techniques that greatly increase the chances of a successful pregnancy. Testing for chromosomal errors, common in early embryos, has further increased the chance of pregnancy to an incredible 80% per embryo transfer, hitting a new millstone.
When patients seek fertility treatment, the medical expertise and the quality of patient care are of utmost importance. At AFCT patients will find a unique combination of advanced reproductive embryology and endocrinology along with a caring team of specialized nurses and support staff.
