Monee, Illinois (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- Advanced Mobility and Specialty Vehicles (http://www.amstcorp.com), a leading designer and manufacturer of mobile MRI, PET/CT and CT medical trailers, announced today that they have completed a new Philips Ingenia 1.5T MRI Trailer (http://www.healthcare.philips.com) that meets all European road, design and technical specifications. The new trailer will be delivered to Mor-Mar Ltd., of Israel. Mor-Mar awarded their contract to Philips for the Ingenia 1.5T MRI system and Advanced Mobility as the preferred supplier of Philips MRI trailers.
“We have been working with Advanced Mobility for many years now and based on their expertise with our US trailer design, we were confident they could meet the road specifications of a trailer that would be operating in a European country,” said Steve Mitchell, Vice President and Market Leader, Magnetic Resonance, Philips Healthcare. “We have been very happy with Advanced Mobility as our preferred supplier for mobile Ingenia 1.5T and 3.0T MRI Trailers in the US, and are pleased that our relationship now extends to mobile units placed into service overseas.”
The proposal process commenced earlier this year, followed by a tour of Advanced Mobility’s manufacturing facility by Mor-Mar Ltd. CEO, Mickey Ringart. Headquartered in Israel, Mor-Mar is a leader in diagnostic services, with mobile medical imaging units throughout the country. In July, the bid was awarded and Advanced Mobility had the new chassis delivered within two weeks to start the new build.
“We are very proud to have the first wide bore system that will be placed in operation in Israel,” said Mickey Ringart, CEO of Mor-Mar. “We knew Advanced Mobility would deliver a showcase Philips Ingenia 1.5T MRI trailer to us as promised.”
Advanced Mobility worked closely with Philips to accommodate their European specifications, beginning with a smaller chassis, building exterior walls to withstand extreme outdoor temperatures, the interior design and construction, installing the Ingenia 1.5T MRI, and the magnet shielding limiting the 5-gauss line inside the trailer. A custom Air Conditioning Unit and Chiller System were also designed and built, along with a Patient Lift and custom exterior trailer graphics from artwork provided by Mor-Mar.
“It is truly an honor to be the designated preferred manufacturer of their trailers by Philips and to have this opportunity to build a Philips Ingenia 1.5T MRI trailer to European standards here in the US that will be shipped and operated overseas,” said Bob Bachman, President, Advance Mobility and Specialty Vehicles. “We are proud of our strong relationship with Philips and growing our expertise and services to reach internationally markets.”
The new Philips Ingenia 1.5T MRI trailer is scheduled to be placed into service by Mor-Mor before the end of 2013.
