Advanced Patient Advocacy Continues Community Outreach As Part of Federal Navigator Grant
Richmond, Virginia (PRWEB) February 09, 2015 -- Advanced Patient Advocacy, LLC (APA) announced today that, during the current healthcare open enrollment period, its team of trained Navigators has participated in numerous outreach and enrollment events throughout the targeted communities. Events have been held at medical facilities, churches, neighborhood resource/recreation centers, college campuses, clinics, and other public venues. Additional events are scheduled before the February 15th open enrollment deadline. Working with its healthcare and community partners, APA participates in such events to:
• Promote awareness in an environment that provides an easy way to enroll individuals and families;
• Disseminate educational material surrounding coverage choices; and
• Provide friendly, comprehensive, and convenient Navigation support.
APA was selected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to provide free assistance through federally-trained Navigators to the citizens of Virginia, West Virginia, Missouri, and Tennessee. Navigators provide education and guidance for uninsured and underinsured citizens to assist them with selecting the private healthcare plan that best meets their personal needs. Patient Navigators are also responsible for conducting public education activities, such as attending health fairs and other local events to raise awareness of the healthcare Marketplace and coverage opportunities.
