Advances in Neurology are Discussed with Host James Earl Jones on a Piece for Public Television on the Series "Behind The Scenes"
(PRWEB) December 27, 2015 -- In an upcoming installment of “Behind The Scenes” with host, James Earl Jones, the program will cover the rapidly developing subject of advances in neurology. The human nervous system is the most sophisticated system known to science.
That reason alone is sufficient to explain the magnitude of the mystery that, to this day, still surrounds the one physical object most central to human experience- the brain. Scientists and philosophers still ponder the most fundamental questions about cognition, memory, and the self. Despite the ongoing mystery, advances in neurology, the science of nerve cells or neurons and the networks they compose, has made great strides in recent years.
These advances are particularly notable in the areas of neurological medicine. Medical researchers have taken great strides in developing treatments for neurological disorders such as Huntington's disease, Epilepsy, Strokes, Alzheimer's disease and dementia, multiple sclerosis, and acute spine and back pain. Significant advances have also been made in the application of neurocritical care, Palliative care, neurogenesis, as well as health policy and practice.
While there is a long history of neurological surgical exploratory research, there too have great strides have been made toward understanding the human brain. These advances will have enormous implications in the way we think about what we are, as a species, and where we are going.
Behind The Scenes is an independently produced television production made for and distributed to Public Television Stations across the United States, to be aired at their discretion. It is not a product of PBS or APT and is not affiliated with them.
