Mt. Clemens, MI (PRWEB) August 12, 2016 -- Greater attention is shining on Macomb County, Michigan and for good reason. Advancing Macomb, a local Nonprofit is stepping up efforts to support the community. Modeled after other local Michigan organizations such as the former Detroit Renaissance and Grand Rapids-based Grand Action, Advancing Macomb (AM), is a nonprofit working to spur economic reinvestment in the community and civic leadership in Macomb County, Michigan.

Advancing Macomb provides a unified voice for Macomb’s corporate, institutional, non-profit and public sectors. With a mission to enhance the quality of life for Macomb County communities by leveraging collective support to invest in new and existing assets. In the past 10 years, Macomb County has experienced the most population growth, 6.7 percent, of any county in Michigan and closing in on 900,000 residents, it is the third most populous county in the state. Macomb County is home to more than 130 parks covering 12,000 acres, has four major public parks (Freedom Hill County Park, Macomb Orchard Trail, Lake St. Clair Metropark and Stoney Creek Metropark) and is recognized for its 89.34 square miles of water including Lake St. Clair, which borders the County on the east.
