Advanta IRA Services in Largo, Florida Makes Move to Support The State of Florida Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Program
Largo, Florida (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- According to The State of Florida Guardian ad Litem program, “Thousands of abused and neglected children become the subject of judicial proceedings each year in Florida through no fault of their own. The State of Florida Guardian ad Litem program trains and certifies citizens to represent the best interests of their assigned child(ren).” GALs volunteer their time to fulfill life-changing obligations—representing the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in juvenile court deprivation cases. Through hard work and dedication, GALs provide independent recommendations to the courts in the best interests of the children.
“Guardian ad Litems are quite literally the voice of endangered children in the courtroom and beyond, fighting for the rights of these children within the child welfare system to ensure their future wellbeing,” says Jack Callahan, Managing Partner of Advanta IRA Services.
What sets GALs apart from the rest is that they volunteer their time. Sometimes representing a child in the child welfare system requires travel and other expenses that come out of the advocate’s pocket. These expenses are not reimbursed. “Advanta IRA strongly believes GALs are unique individuals in giving their time to assist children in distress and we’d like to help them continue helping others by donating gas and gift cards to relieve some of the financial burden the advocates incur,” says Callahan.
In an effort to do so, Advanta IRA Services plans to raise awareness of the The State of Florida Guardian ad Litem program within educational and training events held weekly. These popular events are presented to professionals across the United States who are interested in and actively use self-directed IRAs to build wealth towards their retirement. The gas and gift card program for FL GALs will be presented at each of these functions as an act of kindness participants can contribute to in thanking these volunteers for their important service.
Advanta IRA’s staff members are excited and have already begun donating their own money towards the purchase of gas and gift cards for the advocates. This excitement is contagious and Callahan is confident that many of Advanta IRA’s staff, clients and community partners will come together to make a difference in the lives of others.
If you are interested in participating by donating a gas card, please contact Scott Maurer with Advanta IRA Services at (727) 581-9853, ext. 1123.
