Adventure Life Announces the Victoria Strait Expedition
Missoula, Montana (PRWEB) July 24, 2014 -- Adventure Life offers a limited number of travelers the unique opportunity to participate in the “Victoria Strait Expedition.” This Arctic cruise has been organized with the purpose of finally finding the lost ships of Captain Sir John Franklin. Franklin departed England in 1845 on his fourth, and final, Arctic expedition. A Royal Navy officer and experienced explorer, Franklin was leading this voyage that was meant to traverse the final unnavigated areas of the Northwest Passage. The two ships on the expedition, the Erebus and Terror, became icebound in Victoria Straight off of King William Island, and all 129 passengers were lost, including Franklin. There have been multiple searches for the vessels throughout history but to no avail.

The Akademik Sergey Vavilov/One Ocean Voyager will embark on this special 14-night voyage in Halifax on August 15th and end in Resolute on August 26th. Rates range from $12,000 to $26,000 per person. A very small number of spots are available for passengers, so participating will be an exceptional opportunity. The Canadian Coast Guard, Royal Canadian navy, Arctic Research Foundation, and One Ocean Expeditions will each be providing a vessel in the joint expedition.
