Advise Technologies Releases Form ADV Filing Software
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 09, 2015 -- Advise Technologies is pleased to announce the release of a Form ADV filing module.
ADV is the official form used to register as an investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and state regulators. It is filed annually after the adviser's fiscal year end or amended when key information changes.
According to the SEC, "The form consists of two parts. Part 1 requires information about the investment adviser’s business, ownership, clients, employees, business practices, affiliations, and any disciplinary events of the adviser or its employees. Part 2 requires investment advisers to prepare narrative brochures written in plain English that contain information such as the types of advisory services offered, the adviser’s fee schedule, disciplinary information, conflicts of interest, and the educational and business background of management and key advisory personnel of the adviser."
Advise’s innovative Form ADV solution allows an investment adviser to collaboratively work on the form, keep a full internal audit trail with notes and backup, and automatically file with the SEC. Some key features:
Pre-Populate. Pull in data from an existing ADV filing to speed the process. This minimizes the amount of work where answers are static or have not changed.
Data Import. Answers can be imported to quickly add information into the filing from other sources and to minimize manual data entry.
Collaborate. Multiple people can be permissioned to work on appropriate sections. Instead of trading documents back and forth, users can work simultaneously and be assured up-to-date information is present.
Full Audit Trail. All changes and activities are tracked in an audit trail. By capturing each action, users can quickly answer questions about who made a change or what the previous values were.
Internal Notes. Supporting notes, workpapers, and other documents can be kept within the filing as backup. This provides a single place to organize this information for the filing and future reference.
Validations. Integrated checks help ensure data quality before submission. In data-intensive filings, such as Form ADV, the amount of information can be large and some sense-checking minimizes the chances of missing required information.
Approvals Workflow. Four-eyes principles can be employed to reduce human errors or oversights. The approval process locks values to ensure they are not inadvertently changed once final. The process can also be used to mark values requiring further attention.
Automate. Automate Form ADV submission to minimize the chance of a data entry error. Without an automated solution, submitting Form ADV requires manual entry of information on the SEC's IARD portal.
Reports. A dashboard and other reports quickly help the user understand overall progress and pull key information into a format for further analysis.
The Form ADV offering from Advise is part of the Consensus RMS reporting platform, which offers integrated reporting for other requirements such as Form PF, CPO-PQR, TIC, 13F, and AIFMD. By using one set of data across all of an investment manager's reporting, Consensus RMS ensures consistency and operational efficiency.
