ADVS-technologies Launches Kickstarter Campaign for Their New MagicSign™, the First Intelligent Color Illuminated Customizable Street Address Sign of Its Kind That Accelerates Emergency Crews to Easily Find Locations
San Marcos, CALIFORNIA (PRWEB) July 29, 2013 -- A Kickstarter campaign launched by ADVS-technologies on July 13 aims to raise funds to send their new Intelligent LED street sign called MagicSign™ into production. The light up street sign has been patented with the United States Patent Office under patent number US 8,099,261. MagicSign™ is the solution to shaving lifesaving seconds and possibly even minutes off the response time for first responders trying to identify the location of a crisis.
ADVS-technologies has produced several fully functional prototypes of the LED street sign as well as a second design called the MagicBillboard. By utilizing funds from the Kickstarter campaign, which runs until August 26, the MagicSign™ team will finalize the designs and start production with a goal to begin product deliveries no later than December 2013, prior to the holidays.
Zack Braunstein, president of ADVS-technologies, said he started this project to create an intelligent light up address street sign that is not only aesthetically pleasing but is also a great benefit to the community. The main goal of the project is to create a product that allows for first responders to readily find the address of an emergency. However, there are plenty of other amazing uses for the LED street sign the team is creating.
“It is time for all of us to make a small investment into our own residences, by making street address signs visible and useful at all times, day and night,” Braunstein says. “It is about helping the community, improving safety, assisting first responders in their line of duty, and of course celebrating your favorite holidays, sporting events, special occasions and so forth!”
There will be two customizable components to the MagicSign™, the Sign Sheet and the custom Sign Plate, which fastens itself to the actual sign device with hidden magnets. Sign Sheets are available through the company’s Sign Library, an online collection of transparent art pieces created by professional and amateur artists from around the world. However, people can easily create and print their own art directly out of their computers.
The MagicBillboard has a tantalizing variety of uses as well, from mobile advertising on the go (such as battery or car powered) to showcasing and illuminating user generated art. It is considered a great tool for educational purposes as well because it would allow young students to creatively interact with colors and special effects.
But most importantly, Braunstein says, this product is designed to save lives and limit property damage. Through the development of this product Braunstein and the team have come up with multiple ideas within the claims of the patent to push the purpose of the product even further when dealing with emergency services. This includes a wireless network of integrated MagicSigns providing up-to-date on-site real-time guidance for best routes to emergency locations and color coded directional MagicSigns to direct specific emergency personnel to the correct units within a crowded building complex if there are separate incidents.
This patented product is unlike anything else on the market, with respect to convenience, flexibility and reliable service during emergency situations, Braunstein says. The intelligent illuminated street sign has a projected life of five years of continuous use (anticipated life is over 10 years with typical use of 4-5 hours each day). The signs require no maintenance except to change the battery inside the remote control, depending on the amount of use, and the battery pack for standby power may need to be re-charged or replaced depending on its use as well.
The team is continuing to update their Kickstarter campaign in order to achieve maximum funding. While the Kickstarter campaign is in its early stages Braunstein is revamping the message that he is trying to convey so people better understand the true meaning of this project, that this is a helpful product with a very important mission that we need to support.
“This is truly about the product, this is truly about the cause, this is truly about helping improve the safety of all of our neighborhoods, this is truly about helping our first responders in their line of duty during times of emergency,” Braunstein says. “This is a critical missing component at the moment and one that we have a great solution for in the form of MagicSign.”
