Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Aeros has developed in cooperation with Element1 a mobile field hydrogen generator that can now be utilized by forward operating units to create hydrogen in remote regions. The device is designed to provide alternative energy or a remote lifting source for aerostat-based communication and surveillance systems.
The field production of hydrogen will support or sustain Aerostat operations independent of current Helium logistics. The field production of Hydrogen will also provide cost and supply chain benefits for the DoD while helping sustain critical missions. It can improve both unit mobility and operation tempo, offering a smaller, lighter weight and less expensive solution.
“We developed this solution for supplemental hydrogen to support Aerostat operations in forward operating bases because helium resupply can be a logistical difficulty and because energy considerations are affecting our battlefields,” explains Mario F. Pantuso, Sr. Product Manager at Aeros. “Our technology provides a reliable lift and energy solution that enhances the warfighter’s capabilities and reduces the logistical trail outside the wire.”
The field generator can operate in extreme temperatures and has low power requirements as well as a low noise signature.
