AES RECLAIM Becomes Supporter of U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced RTU Campaign
Tallassee, AL (PRWEB) May 27, 2014 -- AES Reclaim, a leader in HVAC equipment recycling, announced today it has become a Supporting Member of the Advanced RTU Campaign.
The Campaign is a recognition and guidance program designed to encourage building owners and operators to take advantage of savings opportunities from high efficient RTUs. Inefficient commercial rooftop unit (RTUs) air conditioning systems can waste anywhere from $1,000-$3,700 annually depending on the bulding size and type.

Expired equipment generally winds up in landfills. But what owners and operators fail to realize is that they are being held accountable and responsible for the HVAC equipment by the Department of Energy (DOE) to protect the environment and that there’s still value remaining in these components.
Under the Clean Air Act, building and facility owners are required to safely dispose chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) that are used as refrigerants, solvents and insulating foams. Moreover, the regulatory requirements include refrigerant leaks, refrigerant recovery and recycling equipment, reclamation as well as stringent record keeping to ensure the safe disposal of CFCs, HCFCs and their blends.
