(PRWEB) December 18, 2013 -- Dr. Heather R. Harding, CEO of AESI joined Governor Martin O’Malley on a seven-day business trade mission to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In conjunction, with Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III, the Maryland delegation of more than 30 state officials, business leaders, and educational leaders, she met with key stakeholders to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Maryland and South American.
In Brazil, Dr. Harding met with Francisca Rodrigues, the Dean of Academics at the Zumbi dos Palmares College. The College was created to reduce the historic educational gap between whites and Brazilians of African descent. Dr. Harding and Dean Rodrigues addressed the major obstacles facing the college and provided insight into potential academic and organizational support available through the Prince George’s County’s ‘Economic Development Corporation Memorandum of Understanding’, signed by County Executive Baker.
