AgCarolina Farm Credit Awards College Scholarships
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) June 04, 2015 -- AgCarolina Farm Credit, eastern North Carolina’s largest agricultural lending cooperative, recently awarded a total of $11,250 in college scholarships. The scholarship program is one component of the lender’s Corporate Giving Program.
Recipients of the $1,000 At-Large Scholarship are: Collin Blalock (son of David and Denise Blalock); Coley Mizzell (son of Ronny and Jennifer Mizzell); Rebecca D. Griffin (daughter of William and Cynthia Griffin); Allison D. Lancaster (daughter of John E. Lancaster); and Lindsey Marie Jennings (daughter of Jeff and Lou Jennings).
Recipients of the $750 Community College Scholarship are: Marenia L. Bowen (daughter of Marshall and Regenia Bowen); Garrett Morris (son of Michael and Debbie Morris); Baleigh Roach (daughter of Michael and Amber Roach); Joshua A. White (son of Jay and Lori White); and Taylor R. Harris (son of Paul and Cindy Harris).
Five FFA scholarships of $500 each were awarded to: Courtney Lynn Thornton (Clayton High FFA), Samantha Carly Simpson (Riverside High FFA), Katelyn Honeycutt (Corinth Holders FFA), Christian Mikaela Alfred (West Craven FFA), and Kelsey Lynne Bentley (North Johnston FFA).
In addition to the above scholarships, five $2,000 scholarships to North Carolina State University for students who are currently enrolled in or will be pursuing a degree in the ag curriculum will be awarded. Also, five $750 scholarships to the NCSU Ag Institute will be awarded. Selection for the NCSU scholarships will be made by the NCSU Scholarship Committee. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who are currently enrolled in or will be pursuing a degree in the ag curriculum at North Carolina A&T State University. Student selection for the scholarships at A&T will be made by the university.
