AHIMA and AHIMA Foundation Honor Jvion for Outstanding Innovation in Healthcare
(PRWEB) December 23, 2013 -- The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and AHIMA Foundation recognized Jvion with the Innovator Award during AHIMA’s 85th Annual Convention and Exhibit in Atlanta. The award marks the second year the AHIMA Foundation has given the award.
Jvion was honored for its findings on how to reduce fiscal waste in healthcare organizations and improve operations. Jvion collaborated with leading provider systems and clinical experts to better understand, predict and prevent healthcare waste.
“Innovation is the key to continuing to move healthcare forward, and Jvion is an excellent example,” said AHIMA CEO Lynne Thomas Gordon, MBA, RHIA, CAE, FACHE, FAHIMA. “In fact, all of the companies presenting in our Innovation Pavilion of the Exhibit Hall are demonstrating the potential to provide better processes and solutions in the healthcare industry and ultimately improve patient care.”
The judging panel for the award included College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) CEO Russell Branzell, FCHIME, CHCIO; Mark Blatt, MD, MBA, Worldwide Medical Director, Enterprise Solutions Sales, Intel; and Arun Mohan, MD, MBA, assistant professor of medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine.
Six companies participated in the competition, including ELIPSE, Inc., ImplementHIT, KIWI-TEK, VitalWare and ZyDoc. The companies were evaluated on their originality, impact on the industry, practicality, measurability and whether their work would lead to better processes and be beneficial to healthcare.
