AIA Statement on The Department of Transporation's Automated Vehicle Guidance
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) September 20, 2016 -- Leigh Ann Pusey, president and CEO of the American Insurance Association (AIA), issued the following statement in response to the Department of Transportation's guidance release, "Federal Automated Vehicle Policy":
"The AIA applauds the focus on safety in the Federal Automated Vehicles Policy released yesterday. We strongly support the twin goals of fostering innovation in automated vehicles and the fundamental need to protect the American people.
"In addition, we agree that clear insurance rules and efficient liability systems will be critical components in the transition to a modern transit system. We look forward to continued engagement with the Administration, the states and other stakeholders on these important issues."
