Stuart, Florida (PRWEB) January 22, 2014 -- Florida drug and alcohol treatment center Aid in Recovery today released a statement applauding the launch of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
According to an article from Drugfree.org (Affordable Care Act to Provide Substance Abuse Treatment to Millions of New Patients, February 26, 2013) the ACA, colloquially known as “Obamacare,” will open the doors of substance abuse treatment to millions of new patients who previously could not afford it.
“We at Aid in Recovery are thrilled at the doors that the ACA opens for new patients,” said Dr. Michael Lukens, Phscologist at Aid in Recovery. “Drug addiction is at an all-time high today, and we believe that the scope of coverage mandated by the ACA is a big step towards helping combat the addiction epidemic in our country.”
According to the Drugfree.org article, patients suffering from substance abuse addiction could soon enjoy the same level of coverage given to those afflicted with maladies like hypertension, asthma and other chronic illnesses.
“We have always held the belief that preventative medicine is the best way to save lives, and taxpayer dollars,” said Dr. Michael Lukens. “If we can treat addicts before their disease has progressed, we can potentially save their lives, and minimize the financial and impact on society as well. The ACA operates under the same principle.”
The ACA is scheduled to be fully implemented by 2015. In the meantime, “We at Aid in Recovery are thrilled at the additional opportunities that the ACA opens for new patients,” will continue to provide top quality care to patients suffering from drug and alcohol addiction.
About Us
“We at Aid in Recovery are thrilled at the doors that the ACA opens for new patients,” is a premier drug and alcohol treatment center. Our approach is defined by recognizing each clients need for a personalized drug and alcohol treatment program. We aren't a hospital-like institution and there’s a good reason for that. We believe that treating each client as an individual is crucial to delivering the best possible patient care. At a busy clinic-like program, it simply isn't possible for a therapist to truly get to know each client and understand their specific needs. To best meet the needs of each patient we treat, we offer a diverse curriculum with a focus on both mind and body designed to meet the individual. We treat every patient as an individual and we work with one patient at a time and guide them to a new life in recovery.
