AIR Institute Fellow Mark Schneider, MONEY Magazine, Partner on MONEY Magazine’s Best Colleges Rankings Online Tool
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) July 29, 2014 -- Money Magazine partnered with Dr. Mark Schneider, President of College Measures and a vice president of the American Institutes for Research (AIR), to develop the magazine’s “Best Colleges Rankings,” an online tool to help students and their families assess which colleges provide the most value during college and after graduation.
The tool examines data from 665 schools. “The published price of a college doesn’t tell you very much about what you’ll actually pay or of students’ later life success,” Dr. Schneider told the magazine. “There is zero correlation with most of our measures.”
Dr. Schneider, an Institute Fellow at AIR and former commissioner of the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics, was named one of the country’s 10 most important education influencers by the Chronicle of Higher Education in 2013. He has been working on increasing accountability by making data on college productivity more publicly available.
He is founder of the website http://www.collegemeasures.org, which collects and analyzes data to drive improvements in higher education. College Measures is a joint venture of AIR and the Matrix Knowledge Group.
