Air Supply To Perform At Shipshewana’s Blue Gate in January
Shipshewana, IN (PRWEB) June 16, 2015 -- The Blue Gate Theatre in Shipshewana has begun revealing who will be visiting the Blue Gate Stage in 2016. Soft rock duo Air Supply, which had a succession of worldwide hits throughout the late 1970s and the early 1980s including the mega-hit "All Out of Love", will help kick off the Blue Gate’s Signature Concert Series in January on Saturday night, January 30th at 7p.m. Tickets go on sale August 12th through the Blue Gate Box Office and Website. The concert is part of the Blue Gate’s 9th season of Signature Concerts that will feature many well-known and beloved acts from various musical genres and time-periods.
"We’re very excited to welcome such a legendary group to Shipshewana," enthused Andrew Rohrer, Director of Marketing. "This concert will not only represent a kick-off for our 2016 Signature Series, but also adds another genre of music to the Blue Gate line-up. The guests asked and we delivered."
Singer/songwriters Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock will entertain their loyal "Airheads" fans with many of their top-selling hits, including "All Out of Love", "Lost in Love", "The One That You Love", "Sweet Dreams", and "Making Love Out of Nothing at All."
Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock met in 1975 during the first day of rehearsals for "Jesus Christ Superstar" in Sydney, Australia. They became instant friends with their common love for The Beatles and singing. They quickly gained a reputation for great harmonies featuring Hitchcock's soaring tenor voice and Graham's original songs. They toured with Rod Stewart throughout Australia, Canada and the U.S. before recording their first album, "Life Support", which contained the Top 10 hit "Lost in Love", and they were discovered by music industry executive Clive Davis.
Seven top-5 singles later, Air Supply equaled The Beatles run of consecutive top-5 singles. In 1983 they recorded "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" by Jim Steinman, which solidified the group as a permanent force in modern music. This song was released on "The Greatest Hits" album, which sold more than 7 million copies.
The Blue Gate will be releasing more of the 2016 schedule over the coming weeks, updates can be found on their website. Tickets for the January-April shows will go on sale August 12th to the public, and can be purchased by calling 888-447-4725 or online at http://www.BlueGateTheatre.com.
