Alabama Agency Implements License Plate Recognition from NDI Recognition Systems
Longwood, FL (PRWEB) February 25, 2014 -- The Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center (ACJIC) has implemented three fixed automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) systems and two mobile ALPR systems from NDI Recognition Systems (NDI-RS) in Mobile County, Alabama. The ACJIC is a statewide agency that collects, stores, analyzes, and provides critical information relating to criminals and criminal activity to law enforcement and criminal justice agencies in Alabama.
The license plate recognition (LPR) systems will be administered by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, and NDI-RS’s back office software system, the Vehicle Intelligence Server and Communications Engine (VISCE), will be housed on a server at ACJIC headquarters.
“NDI Recognition Systems is very pleased that the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center has selected us to provide them with license plate recognition solutions,” said Christopher McKissick, sales director. “License plate recognition is a crucial tool for law enforcement agencies, and helps them identify criminal activity and apprehend criminals. We look forward to working with the ACJIC to protect the citizens of Alabama and assist the law enforcement officers who serve those citizens.”
