Alabama-Based Comfort Care Hospice to Adopt HealthWyse EMR
Wilmington, MA (PRWEB) February 06, 2015 -- Leading electronic medical record software provider HealthWyse today announced that Andalusia, AL-based Comfort Care Hospice selected the HealthWyse electronic medical record suite to support its hospice operations.
Comfort Care serves 59 counties in Alabama through its twelve branches, statewide, supporting nearly 2,500 clients and their families, annually.
HealthWyse Chief Executive Officer Graham Barnes said: “Comfort Care is relying on HealthWyse to enhance productivity, provide operational insights and to offer superior clinical support via the new HealthWyse Mobile. This enhanced mobile offering will enable Comfort Care to maintain their standards of care, while addressing today’s complex regulatory requirements.“
The flexibility and intuitive interface of the cross-platform point of care solution, which is Android, iPad and Windows compatible, was a significant factor in the organization’s decision making. They sought an EMR with a robust point of care solution, compliant workflows that were specifically designed to meet the needs of a hospice organization and access to real-time operational data.
Chief Operating Office Lisa Teel said: “We are excited about implementing HealthWyse. The guided workflows, robust financial management tools and analytics dashboard will help us to improve efficiency while helping us maintain our focus on the care and support we provide to our patients and families.”

About Comfort Care Hospice
“The goal of Comfort Care Hospice is to enable people with life-limiting illness to make decisions about how, and where, they want to spend the rest of their lives,” says Dr. Andrew Duxbury, Medical Director for Comfort Care Hospice. Most experts agree, hospice should be considered when the patient is having increased difficulty managing serious pain or other symptoms, when their treatment is no longer working, or when treatment seems to cause more pain and discomfort than good. Hospice can also assist family members who are feeling overwhelmed by not only providing physical support but also emotional and spiritual support to both the patient and the family. For those with a terminal illness, Comfort Care provides the care necessary for physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being and is available 24 hours/7 days a week. Comfort Care Hospice services can be provided at the patient's home, in a nursing home, in an assisted living facility, or in a hospital. For more information visit comfortcarehospice.org
