Alaska Native Corporation UIC Completes Successful Implementation of Deltek Costpoint
HERNDON, Va. The firm is using Costpoint Enterprise and several other Deltek solutions – including Costpoint MES, Contract Lifecycle Management, Opportunity Manager, Shop Floor Time, Cobra and PM Compass. Together, UIC is using the Costpoint suite to standardize business processes, create efficiencies and gain greater visibility into business performance and KPIs.

Prior to purchasing and implementing Deltek Costpoint, UIC was using Microsoft Dynamics SL, which it quickly outgrew after a lengthy and costly customization. With Dynamics SL, UIC couldn’t access job cost reports or monitor KPIs and pinpoint where inefficiencies were occurring within the organization. To continue hitting its objectives, UIC needed a project-based, purpose-built ERP system that could help it standardize processes across the company and provide visibility into every person and project to constantly monitor performance. UIC engaged with Deltek and ultimately selected and implemented Costpoint, which not only met all its requirements, but could scale with the firm’s future growth plans.
During the implementation process, UIC had merged several of its companies into one, which drastically changed the scope and doubled the size of the initial Deltek implementation. The scope change also required UIC to purchase and implement several additional modules including MES, Shop Floor Time, Cobra and PM Compass. With dedicated resources at UIC and Deltek Consultants engaged to work through the new scope, UIC still went live on-time and on-budget.

We now have a true understanding of our business which is allowing us to quickly focus improvement teams on areas where we need to make changes,” said Michele Rambo, CFO of UIC. “This was a very large implementation with over 50 people on the project at any given time. Even with all the changes that occurred, we still came in on-time and on-budget and couldn’t be happier with the results.”
