AlbertaDentalAssociationProblems.com Launched To Critique Alberta Dental Association Policies
Red Deer, Alberta (PRWEB) September 20, 2014 -- According to Dr. Michael Zuk, editor of a new dental lobby newsletter for dentists and a website for the public, the Alberta Dental Association is making dentistry more expensive than it needs to be and has little known quirky policies that do not serve the public interest. Dr. Zuk explains one example is a bylaw that places a ban on sale prices (Section B4 Code of Ethics -http://oralhealthalberta.ca/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Code-of-Ethics.pdf -which states 'dentists shall not use coupons or time-limited discounts as promotional material'). He says this should be a concern to the public and would quickly be revoked if more people knew about it and raised concerns with the Ombudsman and the Competition Bureau.
Dr. Zuk shares another example of an odd dental rule that he recently discovered- a ban on 'before and after photographs' that are commonly used to show patients treatment outcomes. "I could not believe the dental association lawyers would come up with something like this. The lawyers at the dental association are making the lives of dentists miserable by trying to police the websites, office signs and names…I've even had them ask for my Tweets. It's gone too far not to expose the silliness," says Zuk.
