Part of Aleratec's secure sanitization protocol, the 1:24 incorporates Secure Erase technology, a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-88 accepted technique for properly purging hard drives. In addition, the 1:24 HDD Copy Cruiser High-Speed includes the Certified Sanitization label, meaning that hard drives sanitized with the 7-pass overwrite of this unit have been independently verified by a leading forensic data recovery services organization that all digital data stored on the drive had been permanently destroyed and meet the criteria of NIST 800-88.
