AlertSystems Respond to CCTV of Alleged Armed Robbery at Jewellers in Wales
(PRWEB UK) 22 July 2013 -- South Wales Police have released a CCTV image in connection with an alleged robbery at a jeweller’s shop in Clydach, near Swansea reports the BBC on July 13 in their article ‘CCTV image released after armed robbery in Clydach’.
The BBC report that the incident happened at around 3.30pm on July 10, when a man entered the store carrying a 15cm long hunting knife and threatened two members of staff.
According to the BBC, the man left the scene with cash from the till and nobody was hurt. He is described as white, mid 20s, 6’1” tall and of skinny build with a scruffy ginger goatee beard and wearing a grey coloured hooded top with shiny tracksuit trousers.
Det Insp Mark Kavanagh, from Neath CID, told the BBC: "It was a very warm and sunny afternoon when people would have been out and about picking children up from school.
"Anyone quickly walking in the area at this time wearing a hooded top over his head may very well have stood out."
A spokesperson from AlertSystems said:
“Being subject to an armed robbery is a terrifying experience for an employee and it is important for both the store and employees to know that they are protected by a CCTV security system. The presence of CCTV allows for an increased chance for police to be able to gather identifying information and evidence and hopefully lead to the prosecution of a thief.”
