Alger Hires Senior Small Cap Equities Portfolio Manager
New York, NY (PRWEB) February 12, 2015 -- Fred Alger Management, Inc. (“Alger”), a leading asset management firm, announced today the addition of veteran Small Cap Equity portfolio manager, Amy Y. Zhang, CFA, who will further expand Alger’s investment abilities in Small Cap Growth equities. Amy joins as a Senior Vice President and will serve as a Portfolio Manager on the Alger Small Cap Growth strategies alongside current long-time Portfolio Manager Jill Greenwald. In addition, Amy has been named as Portfolio Manager of the Alger Growth Opportunities Fund.
Amy has 18 years of investment experience. She was most recently at Brown Capital Management where, for the last 12 years, she was one of the long tenured portfolio managers of the Morningstar 5-star and Gold-rated Brown Capital Small Company Fund. While at Brown Capital Management, Amy played a significant role growing assets under management using a fundamental, bottom-up research style. Prior to Brown Capital Management, Amy was at Epsilon Investment Management as well as Templeton Worldwide in both analyst and portfolio manager roles.

Amy earned her B.A. in Economics from Manhattanville College, where she was Summa Cum Laude. She received her M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia Business School, where she was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society and named to the Dean’s List. She is also a member of the Columbia Business School Ambassadors Program. Amy is a former President of the CFA Society Baltimore and is currently chair of their Advisory Board. She also serves as Board of Director, Vice President and Programs Chair for the CFA Society Stamford.
