Alliance Enterprises Announces Best-Selling Author and Game Designer Jane McGonigal to Keynote Online Gamification Event
Lacey, WA (PRWEB) June 29, 2015 -- Alliance Enterprises, Inc. (Alliance) today announced New York Times bestselling author Jane McGonigal will keynote the Engagement Game – a free webcast event covering the past, present and future of management gamification – Thursday, July 23 at 9 a.m. PST. Registration is available at http://www.engagementgame.com.
“We’re honored to have Jane McGonigal joining us to share her insights on how business leaders can leverage gaming to solve real management challenges,” said Chris Pieper, CEO of Alliance Enterprises. “Jane’s work in this area is world-renowned and Engagement Game participants will have unique access to her expertise during our free webcast on the 23rd.”
McGonigal is the celebrated author of “Reality is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change the World,” and a world-renowned designer of games that are designed to improve real lives and solve real problems. Her keynote will kick off the three-hour Engagement Game webcast, which will bring together the most respected industry experts from gamification, leadership, Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and The Balanced Scorecard.
Alliance first announced the Engagement Game event at the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) World Conference last week in San Francisco, where CEO Chris Pieper shared the concerns and opportunities businesses face with employee engagement.
According to the Gallup Business Journal, Pieper said, only 30 percent of employees in the United States are engaged at work; globally that number falls to just 13 percent. Moreover, the Gallup Business Journal estimates managers account for 70 percent of the variance in how engaged employees are. The bright spot, which Pieper focused on in his presentation, is how gamification in the workplace can increase engagement by up to 30 percent.
The Engagement Game will continue to build on these principles and provide tools for managers to drive engagement with their own teams.
