Allied American University Expands Credit-By-Exam Policy to Include Medical Certificate Programs
Laguna Hills, CA (PRWEB) July 07, 2015 -- Allied American University (AAU), an accredited online university that offers online associate and bachelor’s degrees to students worldwide, has added a Credit-By-Exam option for students entering a medical certificate program. The Credit-By-Exam policy allows students who are proficient in certain areas the ability to earn credit for classes through a “test-out” process. The policy is currently in place for students working toward an Associate of Science degree in Medical Office Management.
“By expanding our Credit-By-Exam policy, students in medical certificate programs with knowledge in specific fields have the option to test out of certain lower-level courses and achieve their goals quicker,” said AAU President and CEO, Dr. Bill Luton.
“With jobs in healthcare on the rise, we recognize the importance of expediting the process for our students who are looking to get into the workforce as soon as possible.”
AAU’s Allied Health Department offers certificate programs in Medical Billing, Medical Coding, Medical Administrative Assisting, and Pharmacy Technician.
Medical certificate and Medical Office Management students may obtain credit for courses through Credit By Exam for one or more of the following courses: BIO 106: Anatomy and Physiology, BIO 268: Introduction to Pharmacology, HIM 228: Medical Billing and Reimbursement, HIT 107: Medical Terminology, HIT 260: Basic Diagnostic Coding, HIT 270: Basic Procedural Coding I, and HIT 280: Basic Procedural Coding II.
Per policy, students are able to earn a maximum of 27% of their program credit through Credit By Exam. The fee per application is $70. For a list of guidelines and more information about the application process, visit http://www.allied.edu or call (888) 384-0849.
