Alliott Group Member Firm, Taylor English Expands Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team
Georgia, Atlanta (PRWEB UK) 30 April 2015 -- Taylor English is pleased to announce that the firm has added three attorneys to its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, growing the group to 58 attorneys. Annette Kerlin McBrayer, Roy Harold (Hal) Meeks, Jr. and Amanda Wilson Speier join the firm, bringing a combined 73 years of experience providing litigation and arbitration counsel in industries ranging from healthcare to construction.

Ms. McBrayer focuses her practice on real estate litigation and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on title insurance claims representing insureds and national and regional title insurance companies on title insurance policies. She also represents clients regarding creditor’s rights as they relate to real estate, eminent domain, mortgage lending, construction litigation, landlord/tenant, and general real estate matters. She serves as a court-appointed special master for title litigation and is a private mediator for disputes involving title matters, construction, landlord/tenant, and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Taylor English, Ms. McBrayer was of counsel at Coleman Talley LLP.
Ms. McBrayer is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association. She is also actively involved with the Dixie Land Title Association, Inc. (DLTA), the Georgia Real Estate Fraud Prevention and Awareness Coalition (GREFPAC), and the Lawyers’ Club of Atlanta. Ms. McBrayer received her undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University, and her law and MBA degree from Emory University.
Throughout his career, Mr. Meeks has tried well over 100 bench and jury trials and binding arbitrations in substantive areas including medical malpractice defense, health care industry disputes, securities defense, construction claims, and general commercial/contract disputes. At Taylor English, he will bring forth his extensive experience representing professionals facing sanction or loss of license/privileges, representing securities firms and individual brokers, and representing all industries faced with breach of employment covenants, trade secret violations, and other white-collar employment disputes. Mr. Meeks was a partner at Peterson Young Self & Asselin until 1989 when he left to form Pursley Lowery Meeks LLP. Prior to joining Taylor English he was a partner at James-Bates-Brannan-Grover-LLP.
Mr. Meeks is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association. He also has active memberships with The Defense Research Institute (DRI), the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association (GDLA), the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the Old Warhorse Lawyers Club. Mr. Meeks received both his undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of Georgia.
Ms. Speier focuses her practice on professional liability defense including insurance and financial services litigation, medical malpractice defense and general commercial litigation. In her insurance defense practice, Ms. Speier handles complex insurance issues, ERISA, RICO, life and disability benefits, and broker, producer and agent disputes. She handles various tort claims asserted against professionals in the medical, insurance and financial services industries. Ms. Speier has represented individuals, healthcare entities, insurance companies, and local and national corporations in litigation, mediation and arbitration, including binding arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Ms. Speier was previously an associate with James-Bates-Brannan-Grover-LLP. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, and received her undergraduate degree from Tulane University and her law degree from Emory University School of Law.
