Alliott Group Member Sherrards Solicitors Maintains Strong Rankings in Chambers UK and Legal 500 Guides to Legal Profession
London, London (PRWEB UK) 27 November 2014 -- Alliott Group Member Sherrards Solicitors LLP (http://www.sherrards.com) has retained its position as a leading regional and West End law firm according to the 2015 editions of Chambers UK and Legal 500, the well-regarded directories of law firms and individual lawyers.
The firm achieved high Chambers UK rankings for a number of its teams in categories including Corporate/M&A, Litigation and Real Estate, with five solicitors also ranking as ‘leaders in their field’ (Paul Marmor, Terry Fendt, Leigh Head, Manzoor Ishani and Barney Laurence). The firm also secures a national ranking in Franchising, with Manzoor Ishani maintaining his ‘Senior Statesman’ status and Company Commercial partner Leigh Head receiving particular praise.
The firm’s Private Client team, led by Nicole Marmor, also secures its first recognition for their achievements in providing wills and probate related services.
In the Corporate/M&A category, the commercial legal advice provided to a variety of clients including major brands such as The Confederation of British Industry, the Sunday Best group of companies, Winkworth Franchising and Union MedTech, enabled the team to maintain its high rankings, with Leigh Head noted for his expertise in serving media and IT companies and his ‘unflappable character’.
Other highlights include the Litigation team receiving praise for their ability to resolve disputes in matters related to financial services, franchising and fraud-related litigation, at home and abroad. Head of Dispute Resolution & Litigation Paul Marmor is recognised with the highest possible ranking and is described as ‘very good at anticipating the next move’, while associate Barney Laurence is noted as an ‘associate to watch’ and one who ‘inspires confidence with clients’. Steven Loble, a specialist in U.S. litigation, also retains his two rankings in Chambers Global, and is one of only three UK based solicitors to receive this honour.
The Property team also receives recognition for its broad commercial and residential capabilities and its particular experience in retail and development matters that include advising investors on acquisitions, disposals and asset management transactions. Head of Commercial Property Terry Fendt is acknowledged for his ‘broad experience of all aspects of commercial property’ and is once again recognised as a leading practitioner.
A much prized national ranking was received by the Franchising team which is acknowledged for their experience in acting for franchisors and franchisees on agreements, and on employment and litigation matters in some ‘cutting edge cases’, on a national but also an international scale. Manzoor Ishani is described as a ‘seasoned franchising, licensing and distribution practitioner’.
The firm was also highly ranked in this year’s Legal 500 directory, with additional recognition given to the firm’s Employment, IT and Telecoms, and Intellectual Property practices. From the Company Commercial team, special praise is reserved for Keith Robinson who is described as ‘very experienced on all aspects of corporate law’ and a lawyer who ‘provides sound, practical legal advice and business solutions.’
Managing Partner Alasdair McMilllin comments: “I am delighted that we have been recognised by Chambers and Legal 500 and that our rankings have been elevated in a number of core areas. The endorsements received from clients demonstrate clearly not only the specialist advice on offer from our people, but also their commercially driven, common sense approach to getting work done.”
