AllSaints Presents DEF IN VENICE: BIKER PORTRAITS: PART III
(PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- In the third chapter of its ongoing Biker Portrait Series, AllSaints releases the short film Def in Venice – a love letter to the youth and culture of Venice Beach, California.
Taking the AllSaints iconic biker jacket as the starting point for exploring creative communities across the globe, the film features ten individuals cast in and around the Californian neighbourhood of Venice Beach. The cinéma vérité footage offers a candid snapshot into the lives of this new generation of musicians, actors, models, artists, skaters and surfers – all LA archetypes who naturally embody the independent spirit and attitude of the brand.
The film is set to Ariel Pink’s mesmerizing cover version of Joe and Donnie Emerson’s lost 70s classic, Baby, which evokes endless summers and the insouciance of youth.
Wil Beedle, Creative Director for AllSaints says: “During a recent weekend spent in Venice Beach, I was struck by the number of people wearing our clothes in ways I’d never seen before – unique to their environment and lifestyle. This sense of personal interpretation made me want to dig deeper, so we ended up staying an entire week – street-casting people we found compelling, adding our latest biker jackets to their own AllSaints pieces, and just getting to know them. The biker jacket has always been a symbol of freedom and attitude, and the unwitting stars of Def in Venice express these values in such unexpected and inspiring ways.”
Def in Venice is the latest chapter in the ongoing AllSaints Biker Portraits Series, highlighting real people with real lives who capture the spirit of the brand. The film follows last year’s Biker Portrait photographic portfolio, which featured New York’s most exciting emerging music artists discussing their favourite live gigs.
