Altered Stage Releases Second Album Composed And Performed By Chicago Business And Science Professionals
(PRWEB) August 01, 2016 -- Altered Stage, the only private club for non-professional musicians of all skill levels, released its second album through its Altered Records label. The album, Altered Stage Vol. 2: Expressions, features five original songs written by Chicago-area business and science professionals. The album is the follow-up to the club's successful April 2015 release of the club’s first album. Both albums are available on most major digital music stores and channels worldwide.
Located in Chicago’s West Loop, neighborhood, Altered Stage is a unique private club concept that focuses on giving a complete and perpetual music experience for people who’ve chosen careers in professions other than music. The company’s goal is to create and foster a vibrant community of likeminded individuals of all musical skill levels – from beginner to advanced – who share a passion for making music and enhancing their personal and professional creativity. The club provides ongoing music instruction, holds regular group jam sessions and quarterly gigs at known Chicago venues such as Reggie’s Music Joint, and works with members to write and publish music.

Altered Stage Vol. 2: Expressions is a collection of music about topics important to the amateur artists. The album includes tracks from:
Imaginary Man Band, led by Dan Thomsen (Department of Defense account manager for CDW Corporation). Dan writes songs and his friends help to get them out into the world. His wife has told him for years that he has an “Imaginary Man Band.”
- Darth Vader Days is a metaphorical parallel between Dan’s desire to go back in time before descent into his own personal dark side and Aniken Skywalker’s infamous story. The song devolves into distortion even as it offers resolution “…and we fly back to Coruscant.”
- Couer d’Alene and Gin chronicles the story of a man that moves his family to the beautiful mountains of Northern Idaho. Unfortunately the idyllic landscape and lyrical outdoor life cannot piece back together the shards of his fractured marriage. In spring the ice will crack before it slips from the precipice and is no more.
Terminal Bleed, comprised of guitarist Patrick Dwyer (video game developer for Robomodo), vocalist Sean Cimino (senior manager, customer operations for Pfizer Consumer Healthcare), and bassist Jeff Bergau (managing partner for Chempetitive Group and partner, Hopothesis Beer Company).
- Sick of Home is the second installment of the band’s planned concept album that chronicles the life of a man who’s simply going through the motions in life and business, but who aspires for more. The track is a metaphorical story about recognizing and breaking familiar life patterns.
Dr. David Klumpp (associate professor, Urology and Microbiology-Immunology, Northwestern University) recorded two more of his ever-expaning portfolio of original work.
- Supper Club creates vivid imagery and a true-to-life vibe of Dr. Kumpp’s love of Wisconsin’s north woods.
- Little Did He Know digs into Dr. Klumpp’s passion for cycling and ties back into all of our unexpected fates. The track memorializes Neill Townsend, a cyclist who was killed by a truck in 2012 in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood.
With the club's growing membership and collaboration between non-professional musicians of all skill levels from a range of professions, Altered Stage members are already at work on the next album which the club expects to record this fall.
