Alternative Speed-Limit Enforcement System - Designed by InventHelp Client (WDH-667)
PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) November 17, 2014 -- "As an avid runner I don’t always pay attention to potential hazards while exercising; pedestrian mistakes are major factors in traffic accidents, especially in ones involving run-overs," said an inventor from Bowie, Md.
This inspired him to rethink how pedestrians and drivers interact from day to day, which led to a citizen-driven idea promoting speed-limit laws and minimizing the danger of speeding vehicles on roads. Since the Fourth Amendment limits the use of speed cameras in the U.S., he decided that there needed to be an alternative way for pedestrians to help enforce speed limits in their neighborhoods.
The patent-pending PED SAFE helps increase safety by optimizing speed-limit enforcement, which helps decrease car-to-pedestrian collisions, crash rates and accidents. It does this by alerting speeders to their transgression without violating Fourth Amendment protection and rights to privacy. Versatile, easy to use and covering wider, diverse areas, the system is ideal for pedestrians, joggers, cyclists, school crossing guards, law enforcement, construction personnel, parents with baby strollers, etc. It features a mobile app for reporting speeders and rewarding vigilant citizens. It also is a forerunner with "Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)" safety technology.
