Am Cast Inc. Announces The Rocky Transformer Sand Mill
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- As part of their continued effort to “go green,” on December 17, 2013, AmCast Inc. announced its first line of capital equipment in the form of a sand mill which transforms typically 97% of unwanted crusher byproduct into a valuable finished sand aggregate.
The machine accomplishes the transformation by using two rotors mounted horizontally within the crushing chambers, spinning in opposite directions, which enables a 100% impact crushing process. Capable of handling aggregates up to an inch and a half, the Rocky yields 97% useable sand in a single pass. The Rocky plant is available in a stationary unit or as a transportable, self-contained version. The self-contained unit comes equipped with all necessary conveyor systems, a motor inverter to adjust the RPM and sand output, and cost accounting features accessible through the onboard Windows-based computer system.
Am Cast, Inc’s general manager Vinnie Rocco sees the need for this machine from both an economical aspect and as a green initiative. He says, “In today’s ever growing global industry, conservation has long been a topic of discussion. With many of Earth’s non-renewable resources in the cross hairs, mining and construction companies worldwide have been collaborating on ways to reduce the negative impacts of global industry.”
The machine has been put to use already in for a large Midwest aggregate producer with a location in Colorado. Rocco points out that one Am Cast Inc. client has begun using Rocky instead of their Sandvik open table VSI crusher. Rocco continues, “With approximately one million tons of unwanted quarter inch minus alluvial deposit from the Platte River to crush, the Rocky Transformer will have its work cut out. The quarry foreman told us that if they had put inch and a quarter material into their VSI crusher, they would have gotten the same size output with more dust. That tells you how effective Rocky is.”
Rocco says that there is plenty of interest from aggregate producers across the United States, Canada, and South America. “From concrete sand, bunker sand for golf courses, and even Aglime, there is endless potential for what Rocky can do. The most appealing part is that all of these sand products can be created from otherwise undesirable stockpiles of material.”
Am Cast, Inc. has been operating in the Unites States since 1999 as part of an international manufacturing group and leading supplier for high performance wear parts in the recycling, quarrying, and mining industries. With locations in New York and Colorado, Am Cast strives to better serve industry needs while encouraging an open forum for education and exchange of information.
